Descripción:1,3-Dithia-2-thioxo-cyclopent-4-ene is a compound with the functional groups of a dithiol. It has been shown to have hepatoprotective effects against liver damage induced by both alcohol and acetaminophen. This compound may also have antiinflammatory activity due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis. It is a molecule that can be isolated from many sources, including metal carbonyls, ethyl group, and hydroxide solution. 1,3-Dithia-2-thioxo-cyclopent-4-ene has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria in vitro by inhibiting the synthesis of DNA and RNA. This effect was observed through measurements of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
