2,4-Dichlorobenzene-1-carbothioamide is an aliphatic halobenzonitrile that belongs to the class of synthetic surfactants. This compound has been used as a surface active agent in a number of applications, including emulsifying and dispersing agents. It can be found in china, nitro, and emulsifying agents. 2,4-Dichlorobenzene-1-carbothioamide is soluble in water and has good stability at high temperatures. It also has excellent emulsification properties and can be used as an anti-foaming agent. The heterocyclic ring present in this molecule contains a nitrogen atom that may react with nitrobenzonitrile to form a nitro group on the aromatic ring.
