3,3'-Diamino diphenyl ether is a solvent that is used in the manufacture of paints, coatings, and other products. This compound is a hydrophobic chemical with a high resistance to water absorption. It can be used as an alternative to chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs). 3,3'-Diamino diphenyl ether has been shown to be an effective gas transfer agent for organic semiconductors and solar cells. The use of this compound in such applications may lead to advances in the development of organic photovoltaic devices.
