Descripción:3,5-Difluoromandelic acid is a biomolecule that is synthesized in the laboratory. It has been shown to have anti-cancer properties by inhibiting the formation of amyloid plaques and inhibiting γ-secretase, which are substances involved in the development of Alzheimer's disease. 3,5-Difluoromandelic acid has been shown to be more potent than other ligands in its class with respect to inhibition of γ-secretase activity. This molecule also shows stereospecificity for the L- and D-isomers of lactam substrates. 3,5-Difluoromandelic acid may be used as a potential lead for development of new drugs for treatment of Alzheimer's disease.
