Descripción:3,4-Dichlorobenzyl chloride is an efficient method for the preparation of amides from ethyl bromoacetate and amines. It has been used in a number of assays to study the interactions between receptor binding, chalcones, and blockers. This reaction is also used in the synthesis of antifungal agents such as sulphonamides and quinones. 3,4-Dichlorobenzyl chloride can be prepared by reacting chloroform with benzyl alcohol in presence of an organic solvent like ethyl ether or acetone. The functional groups present are chloride and alkylation.
