Descripción:2',5'-Dimethoxyacetophenone is a chalcone which has been shown to possess antibacterial activity. The inhibition of bacterial growth is due to the alkylation of DNA and RNA, which prevents transcription and replication. 2',5'-Dimethoxyacetophenone also inhibits the enzyme farnesyltransferase, which is required for the production of cholesterol, leading to an accumulation of cholesterol in the cell membrane. 2',5'-Dimethoxyacetophenone has been shown to be effective against Covid-19 pandemic strain of Typhimurium, but not in other strains such as T4 or T6.
