Descripción:2,4-Dimethyl-5-pyrimidinamine is a quinoline derivative that is used to treat chronic pulmonary inflammatory diseases such as asthma. It has been shown to inhibit the production of proinflammatory cytokines and keep airways open. This drug also inhibits the release of cortisol in response to stress, which may be due to its ability to inhibit adenyl cyclase. 2,4-Dimethyl-5-pyrimidinamine can be administered nasally or orally and has been shown to have a particle size suitable for lung delivery. The drug is slowly released into the blood stream with a half life of more than 8 hours, which makes it an effective treatment for influenza virus infection.
