It also exhibits antianaphylactic properties, which may be due to the ability of this molecule to inhibit the release of histamine by mast cells. This compound has been shown to exhibit cytotoxic effects against various human carcinoma cell lines and wild-type strains of Escherichia coli, but not against mutant strains.
