N,N-Di-N-propylformamide (DNPF) is a functional group that emits light when exposed to ultraviolet radiation. DNPF has long-term toxicity and is not biodegradable. It binds to metal ions and has coordination chemistry with DNA. DNPF is used in film-forming polymers as well as control agents for the synthesis of other substances. DNPF can also be used as a molecule for research on the hydrogen bond or bonding between molecules, binding constants, and enthalpic effects. The binding constant of this compound is high enough to inhibit lymphocytic leukemia cells.
