• Descripción: 1,2-Distearoyl-rac-glycerol (DG) is a diacylglycerol that is found in the cell membrane. It is used as a model system for studying the phase transition temperature of fatty acids. DG has been shown to be an activator of protein kinase C and has growth factor activity. The chemical structure of DG consists of three hydroxyl groups and two fatty acid chains, which are linked by ester bonds. Growth factors that are known to activate DG include phorbol and glycerides.
