• Descripción: 1,4-Dioxa-spiro[4·5]decan-8-ol is a ring-opening polymerization of epoxides. It has been shown to have a number of properties that make it useful for pharmaceutical applications, including its hydrophobic nature and biodegradability. The use of 1,4-dioxa-spiro[4·5]decane in the synthesis of polymers has been studied as an alternative to conventional polymers. Copolymerization with human epidermal growth factor (EGF) has been shown to increase the bioactivity of the polymer. Studies have also shown that 1,4-dioxa-spiro[4·5]decane inhibits glycemic parameters and reduces regulatory factors that are involved in tumorigenesis.
