2-(3,4-Dichlorophenyl)Pent-4-Enoic Acid N-Methylamide is a sulphonic acid that is used as a diluent in fertilizers and as a zinc chloride diluent. It has an acidic reaction with arene, formic acid and chloride. The wettable powder form of 2-(3,4-Dichlorophenyl)Pent-4-Enoic Acid N-Methylamide can be mixed with other active ingredients to create a herbicide or insecticide. The alkylthio group of 2-(3,4-Dichlorophenyl)Pent-4-Enoic Acid N-Methylamide helps it bind to the chloride ion, which increases its effectiveness. This chemical also has lactam rings that allow it to bind to the chlorine ion.
