It is a monomeric material with a molecular weight of 208.05 and contains two stereoisomers. 3,4-Dibromopyridine can be used to produce monoclonal antibodies that are specific for the desired target antigen, as well as polyclonal antibodies that are reactive with many different antigens. 3,4-Dibromopyridine can also be used in the production of conjugates or small-angle X-rays for use in drug discovery and development. This chemical has been synthesised by reacting magnesium with aniline in the presence or absence of amide or amines, then adding bromine to form 3,4-dibromopyridine.
