• Descripción: 5,5',6,6'-Tetrachloro-1,1',3,3'-tetraethyl-imidacarbocyanine iodide (TCI) is a fluorescent probe that can be used to detect the presence of apoptosis in living cells. TCI binds to mitochondrial membrane potential and emits light when it enters the cell. The intensity of light emitted by TCI correlates with the degree of mitochondrial membrane potential. TCI has been shown to cause neuronal death by oxidative injury in vivo and apoptosis pathway in vitro. TCI is also a drug transporter inhibitor and can be used as an imaging agent for diagnosis of cancer or other diseases.
