(S)-N,N-Dimethyl-1-[(R)-1',2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocenyl]ethylamine is a phosphine complex that has been used in asymmetric hydrogenation of β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds. The reaction takes place in the presence of a chiral binap ligand and a catalyst to give the desired product and the corresponding alcohol. The reactions are stereospecific, with high selectivity for the desired product.
