Descripción:S,S'-Diethyl Dithiocarbonate is a carbamic acid that is used as a reagent for the synthesis of heterocycles and other compounds. It is also used in organic synthesis as a sulfur analog and chlorinating agent. S,S'-Diethyl Dithiocarbonate reacts with carbon disulfide to give thiocarbamic acid. This reaction proceeds by an addition-elimination mechanism: RCS + CS2 → RCSCS + CS The product of this reaction is a thiocarbanion, which reacts with water to form thiocyanic acid and hydrogen sulfide. This reaction proceeds by nucleophilic substitution: RCSCS + H2O → RCSCSH + HSO
