The UV absorption spectrum of 1,3-Dibromo-7-tert-butylpyrene shows three distinct peaks at 308 nm, 338 nm, and 380 nm with excitation energies at 230 nm and 270 nm. This compound has also been shown to undergo cross coupling reactions with tetrazole and olefins.
