3,6-Diaminocarbazole is a heterocyclic compound that contains two adjacent amino groups. It is a colorless solid that has an intense fluorescence when excited by ultraviolet light. 3,6-Diaminocarbazole has no hydrogen bonds, but it does have many ionic and covalent bonds with other molecules. 3,6-Diaminocarbazole has been used in molecular modeling to study the effect of hydroxyl groups on optical properties. The molecule can be converted into its monomers: imine and primary amine.
