This molecule can form a monolayer film in which the molecules are oriented in parallel with one another. 2,5-Di(2-thienyl)-1H-pyrrole can also be used to create polymer films. These films are composed of long chains of molecules that are held together by hydrogen bonds. If a voltage is applied to this film, an electric current will flow through it and fluorescence will occur.
