Descripción:3,5-Dimethylbenzyl bromide is a chemical reagent that is used in homogeneous catalysis. It is prepared by the cross-coupling of an aryl chloride with methyl 3,5-dimethylbenzoate. The compound has been shown to be effective in the treatment of inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and Crohn's disease, as well as other types of inflammatory disorders. This drug has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis and may also inhibit the production of cytokines and nitric oxide. 3,5-Dimethylbenzyl bromide has been used clinically as an organic solvent for urine samples.
