3,5-Difluorobenzoyl chloride (3,5-DFBC) inhibits the enzyme monoamine oxidase. It has shown inhibitory effects against Leishmania donovani and Fusarium oxysporum. 3,5-DFBC was synthesized in an asymmetric synthesis reaction through a nucleophilic substitution reaction of 1-chloro-2,4-dinitrobenzene with 2,6-difluoroaniline, followed by a stepwise amide coupling reaction. The molecule is made up of functional groups such as amides and chlorides. The synthesis of 3,5-DFBC can be achieved through the monomeric building blocks: benzoyl chloride and 2,6-difluoroaniline. This molecule has been found to have inhibitory activities against amines.
