Descripción

2',4'-Dihydroxy-4-methoxychalcone is a chalcone that has shown to have skin cell protective and anti-cancer effects. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of tyrosinase, an enzyme involved in melanin production. 2',4'-Dihydroxy-4-methoxychalcone also inhibits multidrug resistance-associated protein (MRP) which is responsible for transporting drugs out of the cells. This compound also inhibits the growth of cancer cells by inhibiting protein synthesis and DNA synthesis. The optimum pH for this compound is 6.0, with a maximum at pH 7.5 and a minimum at pH 5.5.
