Descripción

3,4-Dihydroxychalcone is a flavonoid that is the major active component of the traditional Chinese medicine Aurantii Fructus. It has been shown to have significant interactions with proton and to inhibit bacterial growth in a plate test. 3,4-Dihydroxychalcone also inhibits brain cell damage by inhibiting the activity of brain cells that release inflammatory substances. This compound is metabolized by rat liver microsomes after oral administration, and it can be converted into aurones by oxidation. 3,4-Dihydroxychalcone has also been found to have anti-inflammatory properties in studies on inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis.
