Descripción:Dimethylethylsilylimidazole (DMS) is a drug that inhibits the activity of certain enzymes and transporters. It binds to the toll-like receptor and activates downstream signalling pathways, leading to an increased production of reactive oxygen species. DMS also inhibits the activity of DNA polymerase and prevents transcriptional elongation by blocking the dinucleotide phosphate-dependent enzyme. DMS has been shown to be effective in treating chronic cough caused by squamous cell carcinoma. This drug can have adverse effects on other drugs that are metabolized through cytochrome P450 enzymes or are substrates for P-glycoprotein transporters.
