Descripción:2,4-Dichloro-5-fluoro-3-nitrobenzoic acid is an aromatic heterocycle that is a fluorobenzoate. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria such as Streptococcus aureus, and has been used in the treatment of bacterial infections. 2,4-Dichloro-5-fluoro-3-nitrobenzoic acid inhibits the activity of bacterial enzymes such as carbonic anhydrase and nitroreductase by binding to their active site. This prevents the synthesis of carbon dioxide and nitric oxide, both of which are required for bacterial cell division. It also possesses antibacterial properties due to its ability to inhibit the synthesis of DNA, RNA, and proteins in bacteria.
