Descripción:1,3-Diacetoxybenzene is an organic compound that contains a benzene ring and three acetoxy groups. A 1,3-diacetoxybenzene ester reacts with alkali metal diacetates to form polyesters. This reaction time is dependent on the nature of the reactants. The stabilizer in this reaction is usually a filament or postulated chlorine; magnesium oxide may also be used as a stabilizer. 1,3-Diacetoxybenzene reacts with nitrocellulose and polyethylene terephthalate to form coatings for paper. The viscosity of this compound is high at room temperature but decreases when heated to about 150°C.
