Descripción:1,4-dibromo-2,3-dimethylbenzene is a reactive chemical that is used in the synthesis of polycarboxylic acid anion exchange resins. It is also used for environmental monitoring and can be detected by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) or gas chromatography (GC). The compound is available as a mixture of two isomers, but it can be separated into its individual components by refluxing with hydrochloric acid. This reactant can be used to link molecules together and can be used as a ligand for metal ions. 1,4-Dibromo-2,3-dimethylbenzene evaporates easily and has been shown to have fluorescent properties.
