Descripción:1,3-Dichloropropane is an aromatic hydrocarbon that is used in clinical chemistry as a solvent for the extraction of cholesterol. It has been shown to cause genotoxic effects in animals and humans. 1,3-Dichloropropane has been detected in the blood of CD-1 mice after exposure by inhalation or injection. The micronucleus test was used to detect these effects and found that 1,3-dichloropropane causes chromosomal aberrations. This chemical also affects the metabolic pathways of rats, causing changes in liver microsomes and increased levels of chloride ions.
