Difluoro-phenylarsane is a fluorinated, organometallic compound with an electrophilic character. It is used in the production of defoliants and as an agricultural pesticide. This chemical is also used to produce pharmaceuticals and other organic compounds. Difluoro-phenylarsane has been shown to have anti-cancer properties, but it can also cause restenosis when used for coronary artery bypass grafting. Difluoro-phenylarsane binds to c1-4 alkyl groups on hydrocarbons, which are nonpolar molecules. The chlorine atom bonds with oxygenated molecules to form a strong bond that is not easily broken.
