Dibutyl difluorotinate (DBDF) is a chemical compound that has been shown to be toxic in animal experiments. DBDF is a colorless liquid with a boiling point of 160°C and a molecular weight of 175.24 g/mol. The chemical structure of DBDF consists of two butyl groups, two fluorine atoms, and one trifluoroacetate group. It produces yellowish-brown fumes when heated to decomposition. This chemical is soluble in chloroform, ethanol, ether, benzene, and carbon tetrachloride. It can also react with water vapor or hydrogen fluoride to produce hydrogen fluoride gas and particle. DBDF reacts with molybdenum metal to form molybdenum hexafluoride gas and hydroxyl groups. In addition, the compound can react with trifluoroacetic acid to produce the hydrofluoric acid anion (HF) molecule and the chloride ion
