3',5'-O-Dipalmitoyl-5-Fluoro-2'-Deoxyuridine is a liposome binding drug that has been shown to inhibit the growth of tumour cells in vitro. It can be used as a monoclonal antibody, monolayer, or fluidity enhancer. 3',5'-O-Dipalmitoyl-5-Fluoro-2'-Deoxyuridine binds to the surface of endothelial cells and prevents the attachment of platelets to the vessel wall. This activity may be due to its anticoagulant properties. 3',5'-O-Dipalmitoyl-5-Fluoro-2'-Deoxyuridine is not active against the major strains of bacteria that cause sepsis, such as methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). However, it has shown potential for use as an antibiotic because it inhibits bacterial cell division
