5,5-Dimethyl-3-(alpha,alpha,alpha,4-Tetrafluoro-3-Tolyl)Hydantoin (5DMTTH) is a potent antiparasitic agent that is used in the treatment of schistosomiasis. It has been shown to be effective against Schistosoma mansoni in vitro. 5DMTTH has minimal activity against other parasites such as Nippostrongylus brasiliensis and Trichuris muris. The drug is metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes and can interact with other drugs that are also metabolized by this enzyme. This includes nilutamide and cyproterone acetate.
