3-(Difluoromethyl)-1-(4-Methoxyphenyl)-5-(4-Methylsulfinylphenyl)Pyrazole is an amide that has been shown to have antiinflammatory activity. It also prevents the production of fatty acids in the liver and reduces oxidative phosphorylation in mitochondria. This drug also has a particle size less than about 1000 nanometers in diameter and is used for the treatment of metabolic disorders such as obesity, diabetes, and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. 3-(Difluoromethyl)-1-(4-Methoxyphenyl)-5-(4-Methylsulfinylphenyl)Pyrazole binds to a receptor on the cell surface that leads to the inhibition of cyclooxygenase 2 (COX2).
