1-(1,3-Dihydro-3-oxo-1-isobenzofuranyl)-5-fluoro-2,4(1H,3H)-pyrimidinedione is a fluoropyrimidine prodrug that is metabolized to 5-fluorouracil in the body. 1-(1,3-Dihydro-3-oxo-1-isobenzofuranyl)-5-fluoro-2,4(1H,3H)-pyrimidinedione has been shown to be effective against cancer cells in vitro and in vivo.
