9-Carboxymethoxymethylguanine-13C2,15N is a conjugate of guanine and the fluorescent compound carboxymethoxymethyl (CMOM). It is used as an internal standard for acyclovir, which is a drug that inhibits viral DNA polymerase. 9-Carboxymethoxymethylguanine-13C2,15N has been shown to be useful in wastewater treatment because it can bind to lectins and inhibit the binding of these proteins to their carbohydrate ligands. 9-Carboxymethoxymethylguanine-13C2,15N has also been used in analytical methods for measuring drug levels in serum or urine.
