Descripción:6-Chloropyrimidin-2(1H)-one is a naphthalene derivative that is used as an antimicrobial agent. It inhibits the growth of bacteria and cancer cells by inhibiting the synthesis of DNA, RNA, and proteins. 6-Chloropyrimidin-2(1H)-one blocks the production of lp-pla2 protein by binding to the hydroxyl group on the C4 carbon atom, which prevents it from being converted into a reactive form. This compound also inhibits the development of inflammatory bowel disease by blocking piperazine synthesis. 6-Chloropyrimidin-2(1H)-one has been shown to inhibit the colonic inflammation induced by ischemia reperfusion in rats. This may be due to its ability to inhibit nitrogen atoms in bowel disease.
