Ethyl 2,4-dimethyl-1,3-dioxolane-2-acetate is a chemical substance that belongs to the group of substances called fatty acids. It is also known as ethyl formate and has been used in the production of coatings, polymers, and insecticides. This chemical has been shown to have carcinogenic properties in animal studies. Ethyl 2,4-dimethyl-1,3-dioxolane-2-acetate has been shown to cause lymphoproliferative disorders in rats and mice.
