• Descripción: Eglin C (42-45)-methyl ester·HCl H-Pro-Val-Thr-Leu-OMe·HCl is a nonapeptide that has inhibitory effects on human leukocyte enzymes, such as cathepsin G. It inhibits the activity of the enzyme by binding to it and preventing the enzyme from carrying out its function. This drug also has inhibitory effects on other leukocyte enzymes, such as cathepsin L and elastase. Eglin C (42-45)-methyl ester·HCl H-Pro-Val-Thr-Leu-OMe·HCl also has inhibitory effects on human cathepsin D. The drug has been shown to have inhibitory activity against both mouse and human leukocyte cell lines, with more potent activity in human cells than in mouse cells.
