Ethyl (4-methylpiperazin-1-yl)acetate is a quaternary ammonium salt that is used as an efficient, water-soluble, and versatile reagent for the synthesis of glycine, amines, aliphatic compounds, chloride esters, aromatic amines, and polymers. This product can be used to produce cyclic esters with diazoacetate. It has been shown to yield high yields in reactions involving amino acid derivatives and glycine.
