5-(Ethylsulfonyl)-2-methoxyphenyl]amine is a synthetic ligand that binds to the insulin receptor. It has been shown to have synergy with other antidiabetic agents and to be a potential pharmacological agent for use in clinics. 5-(Ethylsulfonyl)-2-methoxyphenyl]amine inhibits tyrosine kinase, which blocks the transmission of signals from hormone receptors to the nucleus that are involved in glucose metabolism and synthesis. This drug also has anti-inflammatory properties by inhibiting angiogenesis and tumor growth.
