Información del producto
- propanoyl chloride
- 3-ethoxy-
3-Ethoxypropanoyl chloride is a white crystalline solid that is soluble in methanol and ethanol. It is produced by the reaction of propiophenone with chloroform, which produces an intermediate carboxylate salt. The salt is then treated with aqueous base, resulting in the formation of 3-ethoxypropanoyl chloride. 3-Ethoxypropanoyl chloride has been shown to react with alkyl halides to form ethoxy esters. In addition, it reacts with hydrogen chloride gas to produce ethoxychloride acid (ethylene dichloride). 3-Ethoxypropanoyl chloride is used as an intermediate for other organic compounds.
