Descripción:4-Ethoxy coumarin is a chromanone derivative that has been shown to have anti-hepatitis and anti-cirrhotic activity. The biological properties of 4-Ethoxy coumarin are incompletely known, but it is thought to act as an inhibitor of the enzyme aromatase. This may be due to its ability to compete with 4-hydroxycoumarin for binding sites at the active site of aromatase and inhibit the monooxygenase activity. 4-Ethoxy coumarin has been shown to be resistant to oxidation by photoelectron and can also be used as a molecule in biological research.
