Descripción

Etoac is a natural extract made from the leaves of the plant Eucalyptus citriodora. It contains caffeic acid, 4-hydroxycinnamic acid, and caffeate. These three compounds have been shown to have physiological effects on humans, including antioxidative potentials and significant cytotoxicity against certain cancer cells. In addition, etoac has strong antibacterial efficacy against Gram-positive bacteria such as Bacillus subtilis and Staphylococcus aureus. Molecular docking analysis has shown that etoac binds to the cox-2 enzyme with high affinity and inhibits its activity by binding to the heme moiety in the enzyme's active site. This inhibition prevents etoac from activating COX-2 in response to inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α or IL-1β.
