Descripción

Endo-8-Methyl-8-azabicyclo[3.2.1]octan-3-amine is a drug that belongs to the class of atypical antipsychotics. It has been found to have high affinity for 5HT1A and 5HT2A receptors and acts as an antagonist at these sites. This drug does not show any significant affinity for D2, D4, or alpha adrenergic receptors. The drug has a low potential for serotonin syndrome and may be used concomitantly with other drugs without risk of serotonin syndrome occurring. Endo-8-Methyl-8-azabicyclo[3.2.1]octan-3-amine is synthesized by reacting a chlorine molecule with an amine group in the presence of hydrochloric acid and zinc chloride.
