Ethyl phenethylcarbamate is a chemical substance that has been shown to have cancer-inhibiting properties. It is a cytotoxic compound that inhibits the activity of the protein kinase, which is important for cell proliferation. Ethyl phenethylcarbamate binds to chloride anions in cells and prevents hyperproliferation of cells by inhibiting the Mcl-1 protein. This drug also has been shown to inhibit the growth and proliferation of staphylococcus in vitro. The bioassay shows that ethyl phenethylcarbamate can be used as a modulating agent for hyperproliferative diseases.
