Descripción:1-Ethynyl-4-phenoxybenzene is a monosubstituted chiral compound that is used as an immunosuppressive drug. This drug inhibits the immune response by interfering with the function of T cells and B cells, which are important for antibody production. It also suppresses the production of white blood cells, leading to a decrease in inflammation. 1-Ethynyl-4-phenoxybenzene is orally active and can be taken to reduce inflammation and suppress the immune system. Protonation of this drug leads to its binding to the bacterial enzyme enterobacterial alkaline phosphatase, thereby inhibiting its activity. 1-Ethynyl-4-phenoxybenzene has been shown to inhibit polymerization reactions by acting as a catalyst for reactions involving polyacetylene hydrolysis or polystyrene synthesis.
