5-(Ethylsulfonyl)-2-(naphthalen-2-yl)benzo[D]oxazole is a pharmaceutical drug that acts as a non-competitive inhibitor of the vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP). It has been shown to have no effect on other physiological functions, such as muscle control and movement. 5-(Ethylsulfonyl)-2-(naphthalen-2-yl)benzo[D]oxazole is used in the treatment of muscular dystrophy and other muscle diseases. This molecule has been shown to be effective in treating pediatric patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The pharmacokinetic properties of this substance are well understood, as it is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and eliminated by the kidneys.
