This drug has been shown to reduce insulin resistance and can be used as a treatment for diabetes-associated complications. Ethylcyclobutanecarboxylate is also metabolized into a pharmacologically active form by cb2 receptor. The biological samples that have been studied include plasma and urine; however, it can also be detected in other types of tissue such as brain, stomach, and kidney.
