Ethanolomine thioglycholate is a chemical compound that is used in skin care products, such as lotions, creams and ointments. It functions as a film-forming polymer and has a viscosity of about 10,000 cps. Ethanolomine thioglycholate is found to be safe for use in cosmetic formulations at concentrations up to 0.5%. Ethanolomine thioglycholate can function as an antioxidant system when combined with metal hydroxides and hydroxyl groups. It also has conditioning properties, which may be due to the presence of sodium carbonate.
