Erucifoline is a natural product that is obtained from the roots of Eruca sativa. It has been shown to have neurotoxic effects on human pluripotent stem cells in tissue culture. The genotype of the cell influences the uptake, metabolism and excretion of erucifoline. Erucifoline N-oxide is an analytical marker for erucifoline that can be detected by LC-MS/MS methods. This n-oxide metabolite can be used as an acceptor for amines and has synergistic effects with other compounds like intermedine.
